The meditative art of hand sewing, or “slow stitching,” gives us a chance to relax and enjoy the rhythmic dance of needle and thread.
In this session we’ll be using pieced fabric scraps and a bit of embroidery to enhance a basic drawstring bag suitable for gift-giving or project stashing. The finished bag will measure about 6”x9” and be just big enough to hold precious objects.
We’ll be using new and vintage fabrics, basic piecing methods, embroidery stitches, and simple shapes. Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, a treat or two, and the company of like-minded souls.
All materials are included in workshop fee. Students may bring a small sewing kit if desired.
Students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Coffee, tea, water and light snacks will be served.
