Transform oversize shirts into fashionable summer tops! This installment in my Poetic Thrift series will help you lift your thrift store finds out of storage and into your closet. You can personalize your garment with seam and collar options, fabric accents such as seam or pocket binding, sleeve and hem adornments, button or zip, loose or fitted styles. Minimal sewing experience required.
Materials to bring:
3-5 shirts to reclaim
Sewing machine in good working order, including manual and normal attachments
Basic sewing kit: sharp fabric scissors, seam ripper, straight pins, etc.
Specialty fabric for accents
Any novelties such as buttons, clasps, etc. you want to use
Image or pattern for garment you would like to construct
