“Thrift is poetic because it is creative; waste is unpoetic because it is waste.”
Just in time for summer, learn to make Japanese fabric slippers (nuno-zori) with fabric scraps and twine. A simple woven base, much like rag rug weaving, makes the zori soft and ultra comfortable. You’ll be able to take home a wooden jig so you can make more at home! Bring your own fabric scraps for a personal touch or choose from the generous selection of fabrics provided.
All tools and materials are included in the workshop fee. Coffee, tea, water and light snacks will be served; students are encouraged to bring a sack lunch.
